It is our great pleasure to extend to you a warm invitation to attend the 24th International Symposium of Adapted Physical Activity (ISAPA 2023) to be held in Ōtepoti, Dunedin, Aotearoa New Zealand. The symposium will open at 10.00am on Sunday 25 June 2023 with an Adapted Physical Activity Sport and Recreation Day and close with a Gala Dinner on Thursday 29 June. Programme times and details can be found on here
Building on the success of previous symposia, ISAPA 2023 has become the premier platform not only for the presentation of new adapted physical activity (APA) research and application, but as the ideal forum to network with APA practitioners, coaches, educationalists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, adaptive recreational providers, and those who access adapted physical activity as an end user.
ISAPA 2023 will be both exciting and innovative. The symposium theme is “Global Innovation, Adaptation and Accessibility in a Changing World”. ISAPA 2023 will promote a wide range of multidisciplinary content in APA as well as provide an international forum to discuss latest findings or practice ideas, put them into context and gain a comprehensive understanding of how they affect our day-to-day professional practice or lived experience.
In addition to a traditional symposium programme of keynote lecturers by world renowned invited speakers and abstract presentations, ISAPA 2023 will be offering workshops, panel discussions led by world leading APA coaches/athletes/end users and interactive workshop sessions. A trade show will also be available showcasing the latest in APA equipment and educational resources.
The ISAPA 2023 organising committee warmly invites those interested in any aspects of APA to join us in our beautiful and historic University city of Ōtepoti Dunedin, Aotearoa New Zealand in June 2023.
We are truly looking forward to showcasing the world of APA to our International and Oceania colleagues at ISAPA 2023.

ABOUT THE SYMPOSIUM
The International Symposium on Adapted Physical Activity (ISAPA) is held every second year to provide physical activity professionals with an opportunity to share their knowledge and experience in professional preparation, research, advocacy, and service delivery in the fields of adapted physical activity, physical education, and sport science.
ISAPA programmes include research presentations, innovative sessions for the discussion of new ideas, practical workshops, and some social events. This will be the first time ISAPA will be held in New Zealand.
